THE BELFAST JAZZ ORCHESTRA BIG BAND

The Orchestra whose members come from all parts of Ulster, is dedicated to the
encouragement of big band music such as the music of Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Duke Ellington etc.

Based at the Belmont Social Club. Phone No 02890-760120, the Orchestra performs
regularly at the Club on the first Monday of each month.

The orchestra has raised thousands of £££ for various charities including Leukemia
Research, the William Keown Trust for the Handicapped, Chernobyl, British Diabetic
Association and other charities.

We rely heavily on public support to ensure the continued existence of the Orchestra.

We need to purchase music scores and fund the remaining running costs of about £2500
per year.

To help meet these expenses a small admission fee is charged for the performance on a
Monday night.

The members of the Orchestra do not receive any payment for  performances
at the CIYMS.

The money raised by ticket sales and at the door will be spent on professional musical
direction to improve the standard of our performances and for the purchase of music etc.
